CCHD AT PRESENT
NGO Network for Electoral Participation (NEP), 2007
CCHD is the elected Chair of the network at the national level and from Punjab province. The network came into being with the efforts of the Election Commission of Pakistan and UNDP to support the participation of all Pakistani citizens in the electoral process.
The network aims to sequentially and progressively evolve into an Umbrella Organization to build its NGO members’ capacity, increase their access to resources and create a sustainable link with the Election Commission of Pakistan and the network partners for strengthening the electoral processes in Pakistan.
The network constitutes of registered NGOs/CSOs, non-profit and non-political organizations, research and higher education institutions etc. This network is interested in promoting electoral participation of all citizens, especially of socially excluded groups including women.
There are around 400 members of the network around Pakistan. The network will take voters’ education at the national level in the upcoming elections, besides building its own capacity and linkages.
