ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN FOR WOMEN'S POLITICAL EMPOWERMENT (GEP) 2001-2002
Advocacy Campaign for Women's Political Empowerment was a project that focused to instill a democratic culture within Pakistani society by educating the masses regarding women's participation in nation-building politics.
The main objectives of the project were to mainstream women's political issues/concerns in context of the General Elections 2002, sensitize the general public on the importance and advantages of women's participation in federal and provincial governments, and mobilize/educate voters on their right to vote, particularly women voters.
Furthermore, mobilization of political women to demand their right of decision making in the political parties and government; mobilization of society on women's political rights for bringing women issues and concerns on the political agenda of the country were also the objectives of this campaign.
