ELECTRONIC MEDIA CAMPAIGN FOR RESTORING PUBLIC TRUST FOR DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTES (IFES) 2003-2004
Access to information is core necessity of every democracy. No one can deny this fact as the media in its totality has such enormous potential that it is declared fourth pillar of the state. This potentiality of media has put it under lot of burden and responsibilities __ from creating awareness to building opinions; from promoting good governance to ensuring transparency and accountability and from strengthening democracy to restoring public trust in democratic institutions.
The project focused on initiating a process that lead to more informed masses on roles and responsibilities of democratic institutions. People of Pakistan generally, if not ignorant, lack the understanding of the roles and responsibilities of various democratic institutions. The absence of such information amongst the masses results in lack of segregation of duties amongst various democratic institutions
